You must first decide which side of the S.S. Wheeled Shooting Stool you want the rifle to be held on. I would suggest the right side (as you would be sitting in front of the Stool) for a right hand shooter, and the left side for a left hand shooter. Once you have made this decision, attach the Top Mounting Assembly with Click this image for an enlarged versionhook to the section of tubing just above the fold down tables. Mount it with the bolts to the rear and try to keep it in line with the handle. Do not mount it too close to the table or it will prevent the table from reaching the upright position. This will give the rifle barrel the best support. Tighten the bolts to 45 Inch Pounds. It is imperative that these bolts stay tight. You should actually see the ¼" aluminum bar bend due to the torque. If these bolts come loose, the assembly will swivel and the rifle will fall to the ground. Periodically check these bolts for tightness.

It is not critical where this is attached, but should be as low as possible without interfering with the rifle hooks. Now you can install the Cleaning Rod Tube thru the Top Assembly, and into the Center Attachment. This tube can be raised or lowered depending on the length of the Rod you are using. When you have it at the desired height, tighten the set screw in the side of the Top Mounting Assembly.

The Bottom Mounting Assembly and the Stock Rest must be put on in way as to safely hold the rifle securely. If you are shooting an AR15 for example, it needs to be attached high enough for the barrel to rest in the top hook. For a Space Gun, Bolt Rifle, T2K etc. the mounting can be lower. Remember, the lower the mounting is attached, the more weight is put on the front of the Stool.

Shoulder bolt thru the hole that will allow the Stock Rest to be behind the rifle. The bolt should go thru the larger hole, into the smaller hole. Now thread this into the tube mounting assembly with the Stock Rest opening facing forward. Do not tighten the Stock Rest yet. Place the Mounting Assembly at the height you have decided on, and tighten the bolt securely. Now mount your rifle onto the Vertical Rifle Holder. At the bottom, move the Stock Rest so it holds the stock, but does not damage it. When this is done, tighten the Allen Head bolt securely.

You have completed the installation. If you want to switch between long barreled guns and short barreled guns, you simply move the location of the bottom mount. You may even find an adjustment that will accommodate both types. Remember, try to keep the mounting as low as possible.
